Row Crop Planter

What We Offer:

The MCSCD offers row crop planting, such as corn, sunflowers, soybeans, and more. We have a White 12-row 30" planter that we use for all jobs. Seed can be purchased through MCSCD or on your own. Cost for corn planting services is $19/ac.

  • The producer can plant corn for just about any reason, but we like planting corn because of the great canopy for the soil, as well as the grazing it can provide. Corn stalks are great to have cows out on, and we encourage incorporating livestock on cropland!

  • With corn, the deep roots can help break up soil compaction, which in turn allows the soil the ability to absorb and hold more moisture!

  • If you decide to plant sunflowers, canola, or soybeans, there are great benefits with those crops too. Adding these crops to your rotation allows for some warm season crops, which adds variety to your rotation. Diversity in your crop rotation will help release tied up nutrients in the soil and minimize risk of disease in crops. The cherry on top is the taproot from canola and sunflowers, which are great for helping break up compaction too!
